Companhia de Vinhos Invencível is the project of Rita Marques and Marc Kent in Casais do Douro, a partnership of two winemakers who offer us wines like this Invincible Number Dois in its red version. A blend of local varietals from vineyards over 50 years old, it, after 16 months of aging in barrels, offers a nose of black and red fruit combined with the toasted notes of oak. A juicy and balanced wine that surprises with every sip.
Unique Portuguese project called Invincible
Portuguese winemaker Rita Marques and South African Marc Kent had been collaborating on various wine projects for years, but in 2020, they decided to embark on a new path. Together, they purchased a vineyard in Casais do Douro, where they launched their first joint wine, Invincible Numero Dois. The quality and passion are exceptionally high, and the range offers two wines: one white and one red. Both bear a striking label that evokes the battle between Adamastor and the Portuguese sailors during the Age of Discovery. The vineyards are situated on impressive terraces along the river, where the deeply rooted vines enjoy the perfect climate.
The grapes are harvested with the utmost care at peak ripeness, and quality is rigorously controlled in the winery. Once arrived at the winery, a further selection takes place. After crushing and pressing, the juice undergoes fermentation, after which the wine is aged for 16 months in oak barrels.
The fruity aromas of Invincible Douro Red
Invincible's Douro Red is a powerful red wine. It has a deep, dark color in the glass with aromas of dark fruit, cherries, and blackberries, along with notes of clove and vanilla. The palate is robust with a juicy structure. A complete Douro wine to truly savor.
