Verdejo Rueda DO Organic 'Finca La Medina' – Organic top class from Rueda

The 'Finca La Medina' is an organic Verdejo from Rueda that bursts with refinement, structure, and intensity. This wine is made by the leading winery José Pariente and was previously known as José Pariente Verdejo Cuvée Especial . The name has changed, but the character and craftsmanship remain.

Origin and vineyard

The grapes come from the Finca La Medina vineyard, located at an altitude of over 700 meters on a soil of gravel, limestone, and clay. The dry climate and poor soil produce concentrated grapes with fresh acidity and aromatic power. The wine is made from organically grown Verdejo vines over 30 years old.

Vinification and style

After the harvest, fermentation takes place in large, egg-shaped concrete vats and 500-liter wooden foudres. The wine then ages on lees for approximately 11 months , resulting in a rounded structure and subtle complexity. No excessive wood, but rather a delicate balance of fruit, minerality, and texture.

Tasting notes

The aroma is clean and expressive, with notes of ripe citrus, anise, fennel, and a hint of dried herbs. On the palate, the wine is powerful yet refined. You'll taste ripe white fruit, crisp acidity, and a slightly salty, mineral finish. The long lees age adds creaminess and depth without sacrificing freshness.

Serving suggestion

This Verdejo pairs perfectly with grilled fish, shellfish, dishes with green herbs, or white meat. Serve at 8-10°C to fully appreciate its complexity.

New name, trusted quality

Previously known as José Pariente Verdejo Cuvée Especial , this wine is now officially called Verdejo Rueda DO Organic 'Finca La Medina' . The wine is identical in substance, only the name now more clearly reflects its exact origin and organic production method.

An impressive Verdejo for lovers of refined white wines with character. Organic, structured, and a textbook example of what Rueda has to offer.
