A beautiful wine from the family-run Weingut Knipser. With over 70 years of experience, the Knipser brothers have achieved exceptional quality. They own vineyards in the most beautiful locations in the Palatinate wine region. And with 2,000 hours of sunshine annually, it's also one of the sunniest places in Germany. In other words, a perfect spot for viticulture. And for Pinot Gris grapes, too.
Quality wine from Weingut Knipser
The Knipser winery is a true family business, founded in 1876. It is located in the northeastern part of the Palatinate, between Grünstadt and Bad Dürkheim. The vineyards are located in Laumersheim, Großkarlbach, and Dirmstein, totaling 75 hectares. Founder Heinz Knipser was one of the first winemakers to begin bottling wine in 1948. The winery has been passed down from son to son. The current owners, Volker and Werner Knipser, took over the winery in the 1980s and almost immediately began vinifying in barriques. This allowed them to increase the volume of red wines and begin planting new vines. Thanks to their dedication, their wines have also received numerous awards.
Selection from the finest Grauburguner vineyards with limestone and limestone vines. The grapes are harvested at peak ripeness, with quality always prioritized over quantity. The grapes are inspected and selected in the winery. After pressing, the wine ferments and matures in new and used barriques. Malolactic fermentation is not used, allowing the wine to retain its fruity characteristics.
The aroma and taste of Knipser Pinot Gris Fume
A beautiful glass of Pinot Gris Fume with aromas of pear, quince, and banana. Deliciously fruity but not overpowering. On the palate, these fruity notes are combined with nuts, apple, and smoked bacon. A delicious flavor combination beautifully balanced by a light acidity. A lovely German white wine with a lingering finish that immediately invites you for a second sip.
