La Chita's product line is based on the principles of the three wise monkeys, who cover their eyes, ears, and mouths respectively, to convey the message of avoiding bad behavior and negativity. The original message has gradually been simplified to the famous saying "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil," which has served as inspiration for the current product line.
Four generations of winemaking at Josep Masachs
In 1920, Josep Masachs founded the Josep Masachs winery in Vilafranca del Penedes. At the time, he was one of the pioneers in producing still wines, primarily for his family and personal consumption. Over the years, he expanded his vineyards and passed the baton to his son, who adopted his father's passion and turned it into a profession. Under his leadership, the first sparkling wines were produced and marketed, complete with a beautiful label. The winery grew steadily and was passed down from generation to generation. Today, the fourth generation is at the helm and continues to grow using innovative techniques.
The Bobal grapes are harvested and selected for ripeness and quality. They are then gently pressed to extract the juice that will be used to make the wine. The juice is then transferred to stainless steel tanks where it is cooled and fermented. During fermentation, natural yeast cells are used to convert the sugars in the grape juice into alcohol, creating the wine. After the first fermentation, the wine is transferred to another tank for a second fermentation. This process reduces the wine's acidity and gives it a softer, creamier texture. Finally, the wine is bottled, and it's time to enjoy this La Chita Iwazaru Rosé.
