Description
A pure and elegant Malbec. That's the best way to describe this Paulucci Malbec. Grown at an altitude of 3,000 meters, the vines are a full 41 years old, and you can tell right away. A bit deeper and firmer, but the oak aging is also immediately apparent. This wine has aged for 12 months in French oak, which has done it a world of good. Paulucci Malbec is complete and deep.
Incredible passion for winemaking
La Posta Winery is a unique brand. It was founded in 2002 by Laura Catena, daughter of the renowned wine pioneer Nicolas Catena. Her motivation was to give small winegrowers in Mendoza a platform of their own. They aren't actually winegrowers themselves, as they don't make the wine themselves. It's a winery that sources its grapes from various growers. The wines are made by a single winemaker. One grows the grapes, while the other makes wine from them.
Angel Paulucci's family has been active in the wine industry in Italy since the early 19th century. At the age of 21, Angel arrived in Mendoza, Argentina, with his parents in 1953. He planted his first Malbec vineyard in 1960. This demonstrates a long history of work, coupled with incredible passion and perseverance. The vines that bear the grapes for his wine are over 40 years old. They are located in Ugarteche, part of the Mendoza region. This results in grapes with abundant aroma and intensity. This Malbec is aged for one year in barriques, 15 percent of which are new and the rest used. This results in a wonderfully pure and elegant Malbec.
