A Southern French treat we can't get enough of. This wine is produced by Bourdic, a winery located in Nîmes. This region, northeast of the university city of Montpellier, is overrun with Dutch tourists every summer. The landscape, the food, and the pleasant climate prove incredibly popular with many tourists. Therefore, it's no wonder this La Rabassière Red is also a huge hit. A single sip of this red wine will transport you back to the balmy summers of Southwest France.

A tribute from the Bourdic winery

La Rabassière literally means truffle. This is no coincidence. The wine comes from the vineyards around Uzes, just north of Nîmes. In this medium-sized commune, there's a delicacy even more important than wine: the truffle. The locals are so proud of this delicacy that it holds its own festival every January. During this festival, the Bourdic winery launches its La Rabassière wine. The wine boasts the same delicate flavors and quality as the fragrant truffle from the region around Uzes.

A red wine aged in wood

The foundation for La Rabassière Red is two characteristic grape varieties: Grenache and Syrah. After harvest and rigorous selection—only the finest grapes are selected for this red wine—the bunches are brought to the winery. Some of the Syrah grapes are aged in oak barrels, giving La Rabassière Red greater depth. This is immediately apparent in the nose, which is distinct and spicy. The flavor is complex yet incredibly smooth. You'll taste jam, red berries, oak, and vanilla. This complex palette pairs perfectly with dishes featuring truffles, mushrooms, or a delicious game dish.
