If you're looking for something truly special, we can only recommend one thing: this red wine from the Champagne region. We don't see this red wine often, as it's used to give rosé Champagne its color. However, we did manage to acquire a small quantity of this oak-aged Pinot Noir. And if you ask us, many a top-quality Burgundy could learn a thing or two from it.

Red wine from the Champagne region

The Larnaudie Hirault family Champagne house has been supplying us with the finest Champagnes for years. But now we can also purchase a selection of exclusive bottles of their red wine. This red wine is made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes sourced from Premier Cru vineyards. These vineyards, renowned for their superb harvests, are located near the winery. Once the harvest is harvested, which is done entirely by hand, the bunches are pressed and fermented in wooden barrels. This is where the unique process begins!

5 Years Wood Aged Pinot Noir

Larnaudie Hirault ages its Pinot Noir for an impressive five years in oak barrels. A very long period, and that makes it truly special. During this aging period, this red wine develops into a true hero.

The taste of the Red wine from Champagne

Upon opening the Coteaux Champenois, we immediately smell a powerful aroma of red fruit, interspersed with vanilla and light spice. In the glass, it gleams a beautiful ruby red with a faint purple sheen. It features notes of blueberries, violets, spices, vanilla, toasted wood, and a touch of fresh strawberry. What a magnificent aroma, unbelievable! The palate is superb; anyone who didn't know better would think they were drinking a top-notch glass of Burgundy. On the palate, we detect nuances of red fruit, spices, and violets. On the cheeks, we encounter lovely notes of the oak barrel. A touch of sweet spice and a smattering of blueberries. The finish and finale are perfect, and this wine is best served slightly chilled.
