The history of Las Mulas is both impressive and grotesque. It all began in 1870 in Catyalunya, Spain. That year, Miguel Torres founded the eponymous Torres winery. His vision for winemaking was revolutionary. For many years, the winery continued to grow and grow; soon, it was active in all of Spain's renowned wine regions. The descendants of the Torres winery shared the founder's commitment. And so, in 1979, Torres ventured overseas. With the planting of several vineyards in the Curico Valley, Miguel Torres Chile was born. Today, the Chilean wines from this winery are among the very best.
The vineyards of Las Mulas
Torres Winery has grapes planted in various vineyards in Chile. The grapes for Las Mulas Cabernet Sauvignon are grown in the Central Valley, in central Chile. The Central Valley crosses the entire country, from east to west. Towards the ocean, you'll find primarily white grape varieties, which benefit from the freshness of the coast. The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are found in the east, towards the Andes. This rolling landscape is home to the breathtaking Las Mulas vineyards. Thanks to the excellent climate and perfect location, the Cabernet grapes are perfectly matured here. This makes Las Mulas Cabernet Sauvignon a huge success in our range.
