The Le Pauillac de Château Latour is a superb red wine. Unlike other Latour wines, this one requires more time in the bottle. It has great depth of texture, high acidity, and full tannins. It's therefore a bit different from the typical wines from this estate. This wine has a wonderful power, and it has been produced annually since 1989.

A quality blend wine from Chateau Latour

Pauillac's Château Latour needs little introduction and is one of the most famous in the wine world. The château is currently owned by the Frenchman Francois Pinault. Situated on the southern edge of Paullac in the Bordeaux region, the estate boasts 78 hectares of vineyards. It has a centuries-old tradition, with vines planted there as early as the 14th century. Three wines are produced on the estate: the Grand Vin, Les Forts de Latour, and this Pauillac de Latour. The young vines for Pauillac de Latour grow on less prestigious terroirs in the vineyard. The blend consists of 45 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 54 percent Merlot, supplemented by just 1 percent Cabernet Franc. The grapes are carefully harvested at optimal ripeness and brought to the winery for selection and pressing. Temperature-controlled fermentation follows, and finally, the wine is aged for several months in oak barrels.

The smell and taste of Le Pauillac de Chateau Latour

With a dark red color, the Le Pauillac de Château Latour appears in the glass. It boasts aromas of blackberries, blueberries, plums, and blackcurrants. These fruity notes are enhanced by notes of chocolate, black tea, and cocoa beans. A dry red wine with a balanced texture on the palate, silky and slightly meaty. The finish is lingering, with lovely acidity and a refreshing earthy note. This red wine from Château Latour pairs well with various meat dishes such as veal or goose breast, as well as braised chicken.
