We're constantly searching for exclusive wines. Wines that stand out in both quality and price. Well, with this Le Piton Sancerre, we've found another crown jewel. An excellent Sancerre for the true wine lover. A chance discovery that we're particularly proud of. Sancerre wine from the Loire

Our wine buyers have a unique way of working: they grab the car and drive. Because make no mistake: there are still so many beautiful wines to be found on the European mainland. This time, the buyers decided to head west to France, towards the longest river in France, which is also the name of an elegant wine region: the Loire. We packed up the car and drove down the river. The sun was shining brightly on our faces, but we were incredibly alert: around every bend, a new winery could suddenly appear. Every hill could hide a gem. After yet another bend, with vineyards to our left and the swirling river to our right, the stately Le Piton winery looms—almost out of nowhere. We were instantly smitten and knew we had to go there!

Our suspicion was correct: this is a success story. Behind the winery are also the winemakers of the renowned Pascal Jolivet family. Pascal Jolivet is an authority on Sancerre wines, so expectations are high for Le Piton Sancerre. It is situated on the most beautiful soils of the Loire, and even a tiny portion of the vineyards have Silex soil. Only the finest Sauvignon Blanc grapes are used for this Le Piton Sancerre: each grape is individually harvested and inspected before it can become part of Le Piton. Moreover, the average age of the vines is a full 30 years, which gives the Sauvignon Blanc bunches even more power.

What does this Le Piton Sancerre wine taste like?

After meticulously detailed vinification, the juice matures for another nine months on its own yeast cells. This gives Le Piton Sancerre even more character. On the nose, this Sancerre is subtle and elegant: ripe lemons and blooming jasmine. The expressive aroma of iodine gives this wine a boost. We can't wait to taste Le Piton Sancerre. The taste of this Sancerre perfectly matches the aroma: refined citrus (but never too intense!), delicate flowers, and a striking sparkle of grapefruit. On the palate, a roundness unfolds, as only a good Sancerre can. Our wine buyers are impressed and consider Le Piton Sancerre to be the best in its price range.
