An incredibly juicy wine with all the beautiful notes of Fernanda and Garganega grapes, the basis for this wine! Lenotti Maffeo comes from the gravelly soil east of Lake Garda, where these grapes thrive. Thanks to the abundant sunshine, the grapes have a lot of character, and you can taste that.
The origin of the name Lenotti Maffeo
In 1906, the renowned winery Cantine Lenotti was founded. It now enjoys an excellent reputation in the Veneto region of Northern Italy. Lenotti is located in the famous wine village of Bardolino, west of Lake Garda. This white wine was created in memory of "Maffeo Eberardo Lenotti," an ancestor of the Lenotti family. He was a merchant who, at the end of the eighteenth century, traded typical regional products such as olive oil, corn, grapes, and wine. The winery decided to pay tribute to this figure who had long believed in the region's typical products, and therefore dedicated this exquisite wine to him.
The harvest and taste of Lenotti Maffeo
At the top of the hill lies the Veneto region. This vineyard enjoys sunny days and cool nights, making it the perfect spot for growing the Garganega and Fernanda grape varieties. The lava soil is rich in minerals and organic matter that give these grapes unique properties. The grapes are harvested by hand and then gently pressed.
The aroma reveals a beautiful bouquet of flowers, peach, and a hint of citrus fruit. The taste is exceptionally pure thanks to Lenotti's minimal use of sulfites, which is unique! This is remarkable, as not every winery can achieve this; only the very best can! This gives this Lenotti Maffeo a mild, dry flavor with rich aromas of yellow and white fruit, complemented by a touch of pepper and green herbs.
