One of the finest Provence wines available is this Les Terrasses Ile de Porquerolles Rose. The grapes come from the island's inland hills. The blend consists of Cinsault, Grenache Noir, Mourvedre, and Rolle. The vines are deeply rooted in the slate soil, giving them a unique character.
Unique circumstances for Ile de Porquerolles Rose
In 1983, the Domaine de la Courtade winery was founded by Henri Vidal. The 35 hectares of vineyards are now managed by Edouard Carmignac, who, with a professional team, produces superb Porquerolles wines. The terroir is exceptional, with soils consisting of crumbly slate and clay on the slopes. On the plains, the soil is sandy and slate-rich. The winery markets two ranges, each with three colors. These are distinguished by their character and aging potential. The vineyard is entirely organic, with the utmost respect for nature.
The grapes are carefully harvested at peak ripeness and then taken directly to the winery. Upon arrival, they are selectively pressed. Only the finest grapes are good enough for this Rosé. The grapes are vinified separately and traditionally. First, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel vats. This is followed by malolactic fermentation, which is interrupted early to preserve the natural aromas. Finally, the wine is aged on its lees for 4 to 5 months.
The beautiful summery notes of Les Terrasses Rose
A beautiful pale pink color with a refreshing, delicate aroma of summer fruits. The aromas include peach, lychee, and lime, complemented by floral notes. Intense fruit notes are also clearly evident on the palate. A structured wine with a pleasant mouthfeel. The various grapes interplay perfectly, and thanks to the mineral finish, the wine pairs well with Mediterranean dishes or a generous salad.
