Fresh and elegant wines from Lorgeril
The Lorgeril family has lived in the Languedoc since 1620. Over time, they discovered the finest grape varieties that grow there in ideally sunny yet cool conditions, fueling their enduring passion for the Pays d'Oc. From all four corners of the Pays d'Oc, they have selected these grape varieties to offer fresh, elegant wines, applying the same production philosophy as all their family estates. Today, the tenth generation is at the helm and has elevate the winery to a high level. They own 340 hectares of vineyards on the beautiful slopes at the foot of the Montagne Noir, overlooking the Pyrenees.
The blend for Lorgeril 1620 Syrah Viognier consists of 84 percent Syrah and 16 percent Viognier. The grapes are harvested at peak ripeness and vinified traditionally. The grapes ferment for three weeks, allowing the fruit and freshness to fully express themselves. The grapes are vinified together at a temperature of 25 to 27 degrees Celsius, and after fermentation, the wine remains in contact with the skins for two weeks.
