Los Amigos sherries are world-renowned for their quality and refined flavors. The winery and vineyards are perfectly situated in the beautiful Montilla-Moriles region. This wine region boasts old vineyards that today produce a top-notch harvest, thanks in part to the vineyard's age. The three farmers, José, Julián, and Emilio Pérez Barquero, strive to extract the best from the grapes, and they have more than succeeded. This sweet Pedro Ximenez is crafted with great respect for ancient traditions.
Sun maturation for the Los Amigos Pedro Ximenez
Once the grapes reach full ripeness, they are harvested by hand. Each bunch is inspected by the Perez Barquero family to ensure purity. Pedro Ximénez grapes are typically dried outdoors on mats in the sun until they become raisins. This process, called soleo, aims to express the distinct character and pleasant sensations in the mouth. We think it more than succeeds, with a full-bodied and creamy finish right up to the last sip. The winery, founded in 1905, has been producing the finest Pedro Ximenez sherries for a long time.
Full and very powerful this Los Amigos Pedro Ximenez
Pure love, that's how we can best describe this Los Amigos Pedro Ximenez. The brothers have managed to infuse such an unprecedented richness into this. The joy begins the moment we open the bottle, as we smell notes of dark chocolate, raisins, vanilla, and spices. In the glass, it turns brown with an orange sheen. The beautiful, thick texture is revealing; it clings wonderfully to the glass. Nosing the glass, we smell notes of cocoa, vanilla, apricots, dates, and a touch of fresh figs. The palate is full and creamy with plenty of power. The delicate attack of yellow fruit, accompanied by notes of toffee and caramel, completes the whole experience.
