Bodegas Prieto Pariente is the personal project of siblings Ignacio and Martina Prieto Pariente. They strive to produce wines from the unique vineyards of Castilla y León that are true representatives of the landscape while simultaneously expressing delicacy, elegance, and freshness. The grapes used to make Los Confines de Prieto Pariente come from two vineyards of old Garnacha vines: the first is located in La Sierra de Gredos, in the Cebreros region, at an altitude of 1,005 metres above sea level in slate soils, which impart a minerality that makes the wine fleshy; and the second, in the San Bartolomé de Pinares area, at an altitude of 1,059 metres in granite-clad vineyards, which imparts finesse. Altitude plays an important role in any area as it helps create wines with balanced acidity which, combined with all of the above, makes Los Confines de Prieto Pariente a complex and balanced wine, with freshness and elegance. To make Los Confines de Prieto Pariente, the grape juice undergoes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is aged for seventeen months in used French oak barrels.
