A powerful, robust red wine, this Luigi Bosca De Sangre, a beautiful blend of primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah grapes. This combination is unique and exceptionally well-developed. What a rich, powerful wine this is, thanks in part to the long oak aging that makes it perfect.
Twelve months of wood aging for De Sangre Red Blend
For this special blend, Luigi Bosca selects grapes from the finest plots in his Los Nobles, Las Compuertas, and El Paraiso vineyards in the Maipo subregion of Mendoza, a region characterized by high temperature fluctuations between day and night, resulting in optimal ripeness. The soils are shallow and consist primarily of sandy loam, clay, and gravel. The vines are on average between 30 and 90 years old.
The three varieties are vinified separately in exactly the same way. The grapes are hand-picked into 18-20 kg boxes, clusters are selected, then destemmed, and the best grapes are chosen. The must is cold-milled for five to seven days at a temperature of 10-15 degrees Celsius. It is then fermented with selected yeasts in 15,000-liter stainless steel tanks with delestages and pressings. Once fermentation is complete, the three varieties are aged separately for twelve months in French oak (90 percent) and American oak (10 percent) barrels. After aging is complete, the final blend is ready, and the wine is stabilized, filtered, and bottled. The wine is then aged for a year in the winery before being released.
A full-bodied aromatic red wine from Luigi Bosca
The aroma reveals a beautiful bouquet of black fruit with hints of cedar, vanilla, spices, and a touch of leather and tobacco. The vineyard is situated high up, resulting in intense sunshine and cool nights, making it an ideal area for producing this Luigi Bosca de Sangre. This is also evident in the palate, which is full-bodied and aromatic. A beautiful, classic wine with nuances of cherry and blackberry, and of course, oak, vanilla, and licorice. Delicious with beef, lamb, spicy dishes, and poultry.
