The grape variety that Luigi Bosca Winery is only too happy to work with. The family has cultivated this grape for generations and therefore knows exactly what it needs to make a great wine.

The vineyards of Luigi Bosca

In 1890, Leoncio Arizu arrived in Argentina seeking new opportunities, and in 1901, he established a winery in the province of Mendoza. It was then that he and the Boscas, another old and prosperous family who had emigrated from the Piamonte region of Italy, decided to join forces and establish what is now Bodega Luigi Bosca – Arizu family. They own a total of 618 vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo and the surrounding area, a region with high altitudes that optimally enjoys abundant sunshine and cool nights. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and transported to the winery in small crates. Here, the bunches are selected and destemmed, after which they are gently pressed. The juice is cold-macerated at a temperature of 8 to 10 degrees Celsius for five to seven days. The wine then ferments in small stainless steel tanks, undergoing various extraction processes. After maceration, the wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation. The wine is then filtered and bottled, and then aged in the cellar for at least another six months before being released.

Enjoy a balanced and fruity Cabernet Sauvignon

The result is a deep ruby red wine with the delightful aromas we expect from this grape variety. Black fruit and peppery notes are perfectly balanced with the toasted notes thanks to the oak aging. The wine is intense, structured, and especially full-bodied on the palate. It features ripe, fine tannins and beautifully balanced acidity. This acidity ensures a lingering and elegant finish.
