The Luigi Bosca De Sangre Malbec is made from 100 percent Malbec grapes. We know this grape for its powerful wines. In the Mendoza Valley, on the foothills of the Andes, this grape thrives, resulting in deeply colored wines with a rich and beautiful bouquet and wonderful flavor notes.

The beginning of the Luigi Bosca winery

In 1890, the Spanish Leoncio Arizu emigrated to Argentina at the age of seven. In 1901, in collaboration with the Boscas, he founded another old and prosperous family winery, Luigo Bosca. Since the wines entered the international market in 1984, they have gained a great reputation for their intensity, fruit, and depth. The Malbec grapes are all harvested by hand and transported to the winery in 18-20 kilo crates. Here, the bunches are selected and destemmed, followed by the grape selection. The juice is cold-macerated at a temperature between 8 and 10 degrees Celsius for five to seven days. After this, the juice is fermented in small stainless steel tanks, where several extraction processes are performed. The wine then matures for another 12 months in oak barrels, where it undergoes malolactic fermentation. After filtering and bottling, the wine is cellared for another six months.

The smell and taste of Luigi Bosca De Sangre Malbec

But all the wait is more than worth it. The Sangre Malbec shimmers bright purple in the glass with aromas of tart red fruit like ripe cherries. Spicy notes also emerge on the nose. Thanks to the aging process, we also detected roasted coffee. It's a well-rounded wine with rich red fruit notes and spice on the palate. With firm tannins and balanced acidity, this full-bodied red wine fills the mouth with plenty of character. It finishes with a lingering finish. This Malbec pairs beautifully with barbecue, red meat, or game dishes.
