The special Luis Canas Rioja Crianza blend wine
Luis Cañas Rioja Crianza is a blend of 95 percent Tempranillo and 5 percent Garnacha grapes, sourced from vineyards with an average age of around 30 years. These vineyards are spread across the characteristic terraces of Rioja Alavesa and are primarily located in the villages surrounding Villabuena. When the grapes reach peak ripeness, they are harvested entirely by hand. Only the very best is good enough, so a rigorous selection process is essential.
After destemming, alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. Following fermentation, the wine undergoes 12 months of aging in barrels, 60 percent of which are French oak and 40 percent American oak. This period of aging in oak contributes to the wine's complexity and structure, allowing it to develop its characteristic aromas and flavors.
The fruity aromas of Luis Canas Rioja Crianza
Luis Cañas Rioja Crianza is a wine with an attractive cherry-red color. The nose immediately reveals a distinctly fruity character, with aromas of juicy strawberries and ripe bananas. These fruity notes are subtly complemented by hints of vanilla and cedar. Upon tasting, this wine reveals its enveloping and full texture, supported by powerful yet silky tannins. The fruity notes are also clearly evident on the palate, and the freshness is due to the lively acidity. The finish is pleasant and once again brings out the delicious fruit notes.
