Luquet Bourgogne Chardonnay Le Pavillon 2023
Domaine Luquet has been a fixture in southern Burgundy since 1878. With a strong focus on white wines from the Mâconnais region, the estate also demonstrates with this Le Pavillon how Chardonnay comes to life outside the well-known AOCs. This Bourgogne Blanc offers exactly what you expect from Luquet: elegance, ripe fruit, and exquisite balance.
Vineyards and region
The Chardonnay for this cuvée comes from young vines planted in 2009 on chalky soils. The vineyard is located in southern Burgundy, near the estate in Fuissé. Thanks to the combination of cool nights and a warm growing season, the grapes retain their vibrancy and aromatic power.
Vinification and maturation
After fermentation at a low temperature between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius in stainless steel tanks, the wine matures for another month in oak barrels. This short oak aging imparts a subtle creaminess without masking the fresh character. The style remains pure, supple, and slightly exotic.
Grape composition
100% Chardonnay
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
The wine is pale yellow with green highlights and opens with aromas of citrus, orange blossom, pineapple, and exotic fruit. On the palate, it is expressive, round, and supple, with a refined interplay of acidity and ripe fruit. Ideal with fried fish such as sole or sole fillet. Serve chilled between 10 and 12°C.
