Luquet Pouilly-Fuisse Terroir 2023
Domaine Luquet, founded in 1878, is one of the most renowned names in the Mâconnais region when it comes to characterful Chardonnay. With dozens of plots spread across the finest terroirs of Pouilly-Fuissé, the estate surprises visitors year after year. The "Terroir" cuvée is an expressive selection that brings together the unique character of various plots from Fuissé, Solutré, and Vergisson in a single, well-balanced wine.
Vineyards and region
The grapes for this Pouilly-Fuissé come from various high-altitude vineyards in the villages of Fuissé, Solutré, and Vergisson. These plots are situated on slopes with excellent south- and southeast-facing exposures and chalky soils that create tension and depth. Thanks to the combination of altitude and soil structure, this wine produces a wine year after year with refined acidity and mineral intensity.
Vinification and maturation
Harvesting is done manually, after which the grapes are carefully selected. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for six months on fine lees, without oak. This preserves the precision, purity, and fresh signature of the Chardonnay, with a subtle creaminess thanks to the yeast aging.
Grape composition
100% Chardonnay
