Luzón Organic Tinto BIO 2024
Organic, full of character, and surprisingly refined: Luzón Organic Tinto BIO 2024 proves that with Monastrell from Jumilla, you don't have to choose between power and elegance. This red wine is part of Bodegas Luzón's sustainable line, made from grapes from Certified Organic Farming Vineyards . The wine is also completely vegan-friendly , without the use of animal fining agents. The result? A pure, unfiltered expression of the terroir of southeastern Spain, without compromises in taste or style.
Vineyards and region
The grapes come from organic vineyards in Jumilla, in the Murcia region. Thanks to the warm, dry climate and chalky soils, Monastrell ripens perfectly here. The altitude of the vineyards provides a cool climate, allowing the wine to retain its fruitiness without becoming heavy. These conditions give the wine its characteristic combination of power, ripe fruit, and surprising freshness.
Vinification and maturation
After the night harvest, the grapes are carefully fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of no more than 24°C. Fermentation lasts 6 to 8 days, followed by a short maceration of 2 to 4 days to enhance the color and aromas. Wood aging is deliberately avoided: this is Monastrell as it was meant to be – fruity, round, and honest.
Grape composition
100% Monastrell – the late-ripening, indigenous pride of Jumilla, famed for its depth, spiciness and juicy dark fruit.
What makes this wine special?
Luzón Organic is more than just a label: it's a separate line within the winery, entirely dedicated to organic wines. With this Tinto, Bodegas Luzón demonstrates how accessible and compelling organic wine can be. The winery is among the pioneers in Jumilla in scalable, sustainable production—and you can taste it. The wine is ready to drink now, but will develop in the bottle for another two to three years.
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
Deep ruby red with a purple hue. The aroma opens with blackberries, plums, and black cherries, complemented by a floral hint of violets. On the palate, it's supple, fruit-driven, and elegantly rounded with mild tannins. Serve it with grilled vegetables, spicy lentil stew, or Spanish barbecued chorizo.
