A truly beautiful triangular balance of juice, tannins, and fruit. That's the best way to describe this L'Autan from Chateau Maris. It's a beautiful blend of Syrah and Grenache grapes. The grapes grow in the foothills of the Montagne Noire in the Minervois region and are fully organically farmed. The result is a smooth and generous wine.

Perfect climate for Maris L'Autan

Winemaker Robert Eden is responsible for Château Maris's finest wines. He has lived in France since the 1990s, having worked with experienced winemakers around the world. The château is nestled in the high-altitude vineyards of the Minervois region and was founded in 1997. The natural conditions are ideal, as the vines, some of which are nearly 100 years old, grow on the gentle slopes of the Cévennes foothills and benefit from the vineyards' southerly orientation. They enjoy the sun and are protected from the cold north winds. The winemaker strives to highlight the unique terroir character of each vineyard. Traditional vinification techniques are used for this purpose. The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand to preserve their quality. After the harvest, fermentation takes place in the cellar in stainless steel tanks. Minimal intervention is made during this process. Finally, the wine matures for several months in concrete vats.

What does Maris L'Autan taste like?

The L'Autan emerges with a beautiful purple color in the glass. Immediately upon opening, we can savor aromas of black fruit like blackberries and currants. This is complemented by spicy notes of thyme and rosemary. The palate offers a beautiful combination of juice and structure. Mouth-filling and utterly seductive. A soft freshness on the palate with a distinctly calming effect. A tempting food wine that pairs well with pork, poultry, and vegetarian dishes.
