This blended wine perfectly captures the beauty and authenticity of Puglia. And that's precisely what the winemakers at Masseria Borgo strive for. Ficheto Bianco refers to the white grape varieties used in this blend. The blend consists of Fiano, Malvasia, and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. These grapes thrive in the warm Italian sun, allowing them to develop unique characteristics. The vinification process is meticulously managed, resulting in a truly exceptional wine. At the end of summer, all the grapes are harvested individually by hand. This allows for rigorous selection during the harvest. At the winery, the grapes are then destemmed. Next, they are macerated on the skins for 24 hours, rather than being pressed immediately. This allows the aromas to develop even more fully. After pressing, 60 percent of the juice is transferred to stainless steel tanks, where it undergoes fermentation for approximately 10 days. The remaining 40 percent is placed in new French oak barrels, where it is aged on the lees for five months. This extended aging gives the wine its distinctive flavor.
