Varietal(s) Fiano

A soft white wine with a tremendous aromatic character. The Fiano grape takes center stage in this Torremossa Salento wine, creating a flavorful wine. It's a lesser-known Italian grape variety, yet a growing number of winemakers are taking the plunge and producing wines with it. And this one from Masseria Li Veli surprises, resulting in a complete and distinctive white wine.

Manual harvest for Masseria Li Veli Torremossa Salento Fiano

In the southernmost tip of Italy's boot, Puglia to be precise, we find the Masseria Li Veli winery. Its founder, Antonio de Viti de Marco, dreamed of establishing a wine project in the region. And he has more than succeeded. The estate now covers 33,000 square meters. The climate in southern Italy is perfect for winegrowing. Warm summers alternate with cold nights and mild winters. And Masseria Li Veli capitalizes on this perfectly. The ripe Fiano grapes are harvested by hand around September and transported to the winery in small crates. This is done to ensure the grapes remain intact and retain their freshness. At the winery, they are stored in large cold rooms. This allows fermentation to begin cool, preserving all their characteristics. The grapes are then pressed and briefly leave the skins on. Afterward, the wine is cooled to ten degrees Celsius, preventing malolactic fermentation. This makes the wine extra fresh and full of aromas.

Enjoy the fruity, full Torremossa Salento Fiano

The Torremossa Salento Fiano emerges in the glass with a bright straw yellow color. The aroma leaps from the glass and is initially inviting. Citrus, melon, and pear predominate. On the palate, it's a fresh wine with fruity notes combined with a salty minerality. Full, round, and robust fruity notes emerge clearly on the back of the palate, making it a complete white wine. In a word: Beautiful!
