What an unparalleled beauty this MED Mediterranee Rosé, hailing from the South of France, possesses. And the South of France is the birthplace of fine rosé wines, including those from Provence. This rosé is made with respect for nature, the environment, and people. This results in an exceptionally smooth and pure rosé that is beloved throughout France. The winery is located an hour's drive from the Côte d'Azur and occupies a very old estate dating back to the 17th century. The vineyards and château are surrounded by green forests, creating a unique terroir.
The old vineyard of MED
Med employs many modern techniques but also boasts a very old vineyard planted with Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah grapes. These old vineyards have deep roots, making them well-suited to the warm afternoons of the south of France. The natural hillsides provide the bunches with a refreshing breeze, as the wind from the sea blows easily through the vineyards. This eliminates the need for assistance during the growing season, ensuring the grapes ripen evenly. Once the harvest reaches the desired ripeness of Marnix Engels, they are harvested manually in the morning to prevent damage to the bunches and prevent oxidation. Upon arrival, the grapes are placed in a state-of-the-art machine that inspects each grape. Only the finest grapes are used, and this is evident in this MED Mediterranee Rosé. This modern technique is typically used only by the most prestigious names in Bordeaux. It is expensive, but it results in a wine that is highly popular.
The aroma and taste of the MED Mediterranee Rosé
Your mouth is probably watering already; just sit back and enjoy it in the sunshine. This is a feast for the eyes, and it blows many a more expensive rosé away. It all starts with the opening of the bottle, as we can already smell the French sun. A beautiful, vibrant bouquet of pear, red fruit, and subtle, soft spiciness is immediately noticeable. The color is, of course, the salmon pink for which the region is famous. Nosing the glass, we noted hints of orange, strawberries, raspberries, and a touch of lime. On the palate, this MED Mediterranee Rosé transports you to an afternoon of pure indulgence. The flavors are tantalizing, with a lovely fresh attack and plenty of red fruit. On the back of the tongue, some minerals, citrus fruit, and grapefruit. But above all, it's very smooth, fresh, and exceptionally pure.
