Monólogo Avesso

Monologo Avesso P67 is a monovarietal white wine produced by Quinta de Santa Teresa. The Avesso is grown on plot P67 using sustainable agricultural practices. This estate is currently converting to organic farming, and this is reflected in the pure style of this white wine.

A wine with more body

This Avesso is marketed by the Portuguese winery A&D. Alexandre & Dialina Gomas, hence the name, are technical engineers with a deep passion for wine. The family estate Casa do Arrabalde was replanted in 1991, comprising five hectares of vineyards. Later, seven more hectares were purchased. In 2015, Quinta de Santa Teresa was acquired, from which the Avesso originates. The three estates are located in the Minho, Baião subregion, bordering the Douro. This is the warmest part of Vinho Verde. The soils here consist of granite, and thanks to the steep slopes, the grapes also receive plenty of sunshine. Avesso is a grape typically used in Vinho Verdo to give the wine more body and alcohol. The grapes for this white wine are harvested by hand and transported to the cellar in small containers. There, the grapes are destemmed and crushed. The grapes macerate in the press for a few hours before being pressed. Fermentation takes place at a low temperature in stainless steel tanks, partially with skin contact. After clarification and filtration, the wine is bottled.

What does the Monólogo Avesso P67 taste like?

Then it's time to pour the wine. This Avesso gleams lemon yellow in the glass, releasing its aromas immediately. The nose offers hints of citrus and tree fruit aromas, along with subtle hints of tropical fruit. The palate is refreshing, with lovely soft minerals, abundant white fruit richness, and crisp acidity, making the wine very exciting.
