We can't imagine our selection without this beautiful southern French winery, Monteclain. We've been selling these wines with great passion for years. The vineyards and winery are located in the Pays s'Oc wine region, and that's where the blend for this Blanc Sec is made. It's a unique blend of different grape varieties, which the winery calls a "cuvée Selectionnes." Over the years, Monteclain has invested heavily in its vineyards and in modern winemaking techniques, further enhancing the quality. Monteclain is proud of this, and rightly so.
The harvest for the white Monteclain wine
The various grape varieties, such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and Terret, grow in optimal conditions. The French sun can do its work and ripen the bunches. The fresh breeze from the hilltops provides some cooling during the harvest, ensuring a smooth ripening process. All grapes are harvested at night, one variety at a time. Upon arrival at the Monteclain winery, the bunches are inspected and pressed immediately. Once all the grapes are in, the Monteclain winemaker creates the blend, and yes, he is truly a master at this! Fantastic!
The aroma and taste of the Monteclain Blanc Sec
Upon opening, we smell the interplay of the various varietals and it offers a richness of white fruit and citrus. In the glass, we see a crystal-clear color with green and yellow highlights. It flows through the glass, giving us a sense of green apple, citrus notes, and some fresh white flowers. The palate is pampered by beautiful, fresh flavors of apple, pear, and lime, which later give way to green herbs like mint and a touch of passion fruit. The finish is refreshing, and the wine is very drinkable.
