What freshness and purity this white Sauvignon Blanc from Montes possesses. This isn't surprising, as Montes' winemaking history goes back a long way. It all began in 1987 when Aurelio Montes and three partners founded the winery. They shared a single goal: to vinify the finest Chilean wines with respect for nature. And they more than succeeded, as Montes has received award after award, filling its trophy cabinet. It's no wonder, as the wines are known for their value for money, a fact the family is proud of. Aurelio Jr. has since taken over from his father, and they continue to produce exquisite wines. Aurelio Jr. is proud of his father's work and continues to instill his philosophy throughout the winery.
The vineyard in Valle de Casablanca
For this white Sauvignon Blanc, the grapes are grown in the Casablanca Valley, a unique vineyard where the influence of the Pacific Ocean is clearly noticeable. The vines are located in the Zapallar, Leyda, and Casablanca regions of Aconcagua Costa. Here, the soil structure is perfect, with plenty of limestone and pebbles, along with some minerals. And that's exactly what Sauvignon Blanc loves! The sunny climate allows the grapes to ripen easily. The fresh breeze from the Pacific Ocean provides the right cooling, virtually eliminating vine diseases. The result is a very pure and rich harvest. It is therefore harvested entirely by hand and rigorously selected. Only the best Sauvignon Blanc grapes are transported to Montes to guarantee the purity and freshness of this white wine.
This Montes Sauvignon Blanc is a vibrant white
It's a celebration, and it's no wonder this white wine is so incredibly popular. Upon opening this bottle, we immediately smell the purity of the Sauvignon Blanc grape. We noted, among other things, passion fruit, freshly mown grass, and lime. In the glass, it's beautifully clear with a light green shimmer. Swirl the glass, and you'll smell a wonderfully intense bouquet of green apples, gooseberries, lime, and a touch of fresh passion fruit. The palate is teased by fresh nuances of white and citrus fruit, accompanied by light green herbs like mint. The mouthfeel is very pleasant and leaves a delicious aftertaste of white peach, pineapple, and lychee.
