This winery is almost legendary, with a truly impressive history. The Rothschild family tree alone is truly impressive. It all began in 1853, when Baron Nathaniel founded the Mouton Rothschild winery. His Pauillac wines were in high demand among visitors to his chateau. When his grandson, Baron Philippe de Rothschild, took over the winery in 1922, the winery literally took over the world. Thanks to Philippe and his daughter Philippine, Mouton Cadet put Bordeaux wines on the map worldwide. Even more impressive: they explored the entire wine world and now also own impressive vineyards in Chile and California.
