For this fantastic dessert wine, we travel to the south of France. Here, in the wine region of Muscat de Beaumes de Venise,
The vineyards are filled with Muscat grapes for this dessert wine. Domaine de Beaumalric boasts the most beautiful and oldest vineyards here.
The old vineyards of Domaine de Beaumalric produce a superb harvest. But this doesn't happen automatically; a great deal of attention is paid during the growing process. Leaf removal is crucial because the bunches need to build up as much sugar as possible. The harvest is, of course, gathered by hand. Only the usable and suitable bunches are harvested for this dessert wine. The golden bunches are transported to the winery in small crates, where they are gently pressed. Only the finest juice is used for this sweet dessert wine. The juice is fermented at a low temperature to maximize its flavor. The fermentation process is then stopped with pure alcohol to achieve the wonderfully sweet aroma and flavor. Well, that was a success.
Upon opening this Muscat de Beaumes de Venise, we immediately smell sweet notes of peach, apricot, and orange. It has a lovely, thick structure in the glass and a beautiful golden sheen. With the glass to the nose, we detect nuances of candied fruit, peach, and apricot, as well as hints of honey and yellow fruit. The palate is delightfully sweet with a slightly fresh finish. Ripe flavors and a recurring fruity note.
