This wine is made with the utmost care, and you can taste the difference – it's a truly Italian gem! The Barbera grapes grow on hills located in both the Langhe and Roero regions. The location faces south/southwest at an altitude of approximately three hundred meters. The soil in which these grapes grow consists primarily of clay and sand, providing an excellent base for this Negro Barbera d'Alba Dina.

The quality wines of Negro

The Negro family has owned vineyards in Roero since 1670. On the hills of Piedmont, they dedicate their lives to producing quality wines from the white grapes Favorita (Vermentino) and Arneis, and the red varieties Nebbiolo, Barbera, Bonarda, Brachetto, and Dolcetto. Today, they own sixty hectares of vineyards, spread over several plots, including the vineyards at the historic Perdaudin family estate in Monte Roero. The grapes grow on the sunniest slopes on calcareous alluvial soils. The diverse terroir and microclimate in the various vineyards contribute to the rich and flavorful wines. Negro's distinctive wines have already won numerous awards. These are all thanks to Giovanni Negro. He is passionately dedicated to making the wines even better. Because, according to Negro, there's always room for improvement. And the whole family contributes to this. Each child has their own role within the company: one works in the vineyards, while another handles exports.

Manual harvest for the Barbera d'Alba Dina

The grapes for this Barbera d'Alba Dina are harvested by hand in September and then gently pressed. After fermentation, this Negro Barbera d'Alba Dina is aged for 12 months in steel barrels. The result is stunning, with abundant notes of black and red fruit on the nose, along with hints of plum and light spice. The taste is truly typical of Barbera and very delicate, with beautiful, refined fruit nuances of blackberry, cherry, and plum. But above all, it's very soft and ripe!
