Ooh, ooh, this is delicious! The Favorita grapes, also known as Vermentino, come from the Langhe wine region. They grow on the best mountain, at an altitude of 250 meters. The vineyard is pruned extensively to ensure only the best bunches of grapes are obtained, and you can taste this in the flavor of this Negro Langhe Odorata.

The most sought-after vineyards of the Negro winery

Negro is a historically significant winery whose origins date back to 1670. In that year, two of the estate's most important vineyards—Perdaudin and Prachiosso—were first planted. With some of Roero's most sought-after vineyards, Negro is one of the region's undisputed legends. Giovanni Negro, the estate's current owner, produced the first registered dry Roero Arneis in 1971. Following tradition, the Monteu Roero winery now boasts a stunning lineup of Arneis and an impressive Roero Nebbiolo range. Today, Negro observes organic practices while managing an impressive 64 hectares.

The bottling of the Negro Langhe Onorata

"Favorita" is a vine variety that produces white fruit and is traditionally grown in the Albes hills, primarily on the left bank of the Tanaro River. The grapes are crushed when ripe, usually in the second or third week of September, and the must undergoes alcoholic fermentation at consistently low temperatures (17-18 degrees Celsius). After several months, it is bottled, a process that usually coincides with the beginning of spring. The wine is released a few weeks later. Langhe Favorita is a wine with a fine and highly individual character. Although it has a straw color, this is not overly pronounced. This yellow is enhanced by subtle green reflections. It's full-bodied and robust with a distinctive character, with aromas of flowers, apples, lime, and a hint of green herbs. The palate of this Langhe Odorata is round and thickly structured, with a full attack of white fruit and hints of green herbs and lime zest on the back of the tongue. This white Negro is highly recommended!
