For this top-quality white wine, a special vineyard was selected, boasting the best conditions: an altitude of 300 meters, southwest-facing for hours of sunshine, and soil rich in limestone and sand! Negro excels at handling these conditions, producing exceptionally ripe grapes that create the most delicious wines. Negro wines are of high quality and suitable for all occasions.
The family business Angelo Negro
This prominent estate in the Roero district has been a family business since 1670. Today, it is headed by Giovanni, who is also the mayor of Monteu Roero. His wife, Marisa, and children, Gabriele, Angelo, Emanuela, and Giuseppe, all hold various positions and contribute to the management of the estate. Their vineyard, located in the historic region that still bears the name of the powerful and influential medieval Roero banking family, is home to the two most prized grape varieties of this beautiful region: Nebbiolo and Arneis.
The Origin of Negro Roero Arneis Serra Lupini
This wine originates from Arneis grapes, which are produced in several hillside vineyards in the hamlet of Sant'Anna di Monteu Roero. The harvest is usually carried out in the second or third week of September and follows a time-honored tradition: to enhance the quality of the final product, only the finest grapes are selected. In the winery, they are gently crushed, and alcoholic fermentation takes place slowly, as the temperature of the mass (17-18 degrees Celsius) is carefully controlled. Finally, the wine is aged for four months on its lees in the Angelo Negro cellars.
This creates a top-notch wine with a powerful aroma of yellow fruit combined with acacia flowers and tropical fruit. The taste is a fairytale, full and powerful with ample fruit content and lovely minerals.
