Pure love is the best way to describe Bodegas Leza García, as it was his grandfather Juan Leza Arenzana who founded the winery in the early twentieth century. Juan Leza had only one goal: to find the finest vineyards and produce the most honest wines from his beloved Rioja. He found his happiness and desires in the Rioja Alta, a historic district of Rioja known for the excellent quality of its wines. There, he planted his vines in a unique subsoil of limestone, clay, and gravel. Thanks to the perfect climate, the vineyards are now well-aged and produce a ripe and full harvest. The rosé also features a unique vineyard filled with the Garnacha grape. According to Juan Leza Arenzana, this is the grape for a ripe and fresh rosé from Rioja.
The best rosé wine from Nube de Leza García
The Garnacha vineyard is quite old and requires a lot of attention, but it's more than worth it. The unique climate in the vineyards contributes to a ripe and fresh harvest. The Garnacha grapes receive plenty of sunshine and are incredibly cool thanks to the constant fresh breeze blowing through the vineyards. This freshness allows the grapes to ripen very evenly and they are harvested early in the morning to prevent damage and oxidation to the bunches. The color of this rosé is salmon-colored because Juan Leza Arenzana only allows the bunch skins to ferment briefly. This technique is unique in Rioja, as we only know very dark-colored rosé wines from Rioja.
The smell and taste of the Nube de Leza García Rioja Rosé
The new generation of Rioja rosés has arrived, and it's a celebration. It begins the moment you open the bottle, revealing unique aromas of red fruit, fresh flowers, and a touch of grapefruit. Pouring reveals the beautiful light pink color once again, and it offers even more aromas. We noted ripe red fruit, citrus peel, and a touch of pomegranate, among other notes. The palate is very lively and fresh, with plenty of roundness. Simply a top-notch Rioja rosé.
