Domaines Ott Clos Mireille Blanc de Blancs
Clos Mireille Blanc de Blancs is the iconic white wine from Domaines Ott, originating from an exceptional terroir right on the Mediterranean Sea. This wine combines elegance, minerality, and aromatic richness in a unique blend of Sémillon and Rolle. A characterful Provence Blanc that has garnered international acclaim for decades.
Vineyards and region – maritime terroir with finesse
The Clos Mireille winery is located in La Londe-les-Maures, a 174-hectare nature reserve, 56 of which are planted with vines. The vineyards slope down towards the sea and benefit from constant breezes and Mediterranean sunshine. The soil, composed of schist and quartz, is poor and well-draining, resulting in low yields and high grape concentration. The proximity to the sea gives the wine its characteristic salty undertone.
Vinification and maturation – patience and precision
After being harvested by hand, the grapes undergo a rigorous selection process. Fermentation proceeds slowly at a controlled temperature. The wine then matures for at least eight months in large oak barrels. This approach imparts structure and depth without losing the freshness and purity of the fruit.
Grape composition
70% Semillon
30% Rolle (Vermentino)
Tasting notes
Bright yellow in color with a golden sheen. The nose is intense and aromatic with notes of citrus peel, pine buds, acacia, and honey. The palate is full-bodied and refined, with a combination of ripe white fruit, nutty nuances, and a mineral freshness. The finish is slightly lemony and elegantly long.
Serving suggestions
