What a superb glass of wine, this white Pagadebit from the Poderi dal Nespoli winery. Made from Bombino and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, it's a source of inspiration! Romagna boasts not only well-known grape varieties, but also unique local grapes, such as this exceptional Pagadebit. Pagadebit is the local name for a wine made with at least 85 percent Bombino Bianco.
A wine to pay off your debts
Winegrowers love the Pagadebit grape because it's one you can rely on. It owes its name to its strength and productivity. You can always count on it, and with it, pay off your debts, because it always produces, even in difficult years. Paga debiti, meaning "paying the debt," was later shortened to pagadebit. Bombino Bianco is widely planted in Puglia, where it produces flavorful wines. Its character is fruity, floral, and aromatic.
The floral aromas and refreshing citrus character also make it a big hit with wine lovers. This fragrant white allows Pagadebit to shine on its own, with brilliant freshness and fruit flavors. It comes from a family estate founded in 1929, which recently benefited from a new, state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly winery. Now, Poderi dal Nespoli has been named one of the five best cellars in the region, and its wines are exported worldwide. The winemaker is local star Piergiuseppe Grimaldi, who puts his knowledge of the area to good use in producing this pure fruit white.
