The Brut Reserve is based on a selection of wines from the finest vineyards in the Champagne region. Palmer uses grapes from more than 30 different cru regions for this Champagne: 40 to 50 percent are Chardonnay grapes and 50 to 60 percent are Pinot Noir.
The best vineyards for Palmer & Co Champagne
The Palmer & Co. wine brand, located in the Montagne de Reims region of France, was founded in 1947. This was when seven expert winegrowers, who owned Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, came together to form this brand. This group grew steadily, acquiring one winery after another in a short period of time. Currently, Palmer & Co. Wines manages over 200 hectares of land. One of the brand's key highlights is its longer aging process than most of its counterparts, and even longer than the legally stipulated time.
Some of the vineyards belonging to the Montagne de Reims region include those of Côte de Sézanne, Côte des Bar, and the Marne Valley. The grapes are grown here with maximum respect for the environment and the farmers actively involved in cultivating the vines. The grapes, previously destemmed, undergo pre-fermentation maceration at low temperatures for 12 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, temperature-controlled at no higher than 25 degrees Celsius, for 12 days. The wine is aged for 15 months in second and third-generation French oak barrels.
A fresh and distinctive Brut Reserve
The Brut Reserve has a pale yellow color and is fresh and fruity on the nose. Floral nuances and a hint of hazelnut greet you. On the palate, this Champagne is fresh and distinctive, with notes of citrus fruit and freshly baked bread. An excellent sparkling wine as an aperitif, but also deliciously refreshing with most dishes, especially fish.
