Besides the beautiful white wines produced in the Rueda region, Heredad de Peñalosa also has a vineyard in the Ribera del Duero. This vineyard was purchased in 1986 and has been significantly improved over the years. A full-bodied and powerful red wine with considerable depth, thanks in part to the winemakers at Heredad de Peñalosa. The big name behind Heredad de Peñalosa is Bodega Pascual, a true family winery that has been producing exquisite wines for years. The winery and cellar are located in the town of Fuentelcésped, Burgos. Here, winemakers Félix and Enrique Pascual strive to find the balance between modern winemaking techniques and ancient traditions. And they've certainly succeeded, because this red Ribera del Duero is magnificent.
Wood bearing for the Peñalosa Ribera Del Duero Roble

This red wine is made exclusively from Tempranillo grapes grown in the old vineyard in Ribera del Duero. Here, the grapes enjoy a perfect climate where the sun can do its work. The fresh mountaintop breeze and cool nights provide the perfect cooling during the harvest, resulting in a perfect balance. Each bunch is harvested by hand at ideal ripeness, and upon arrival at Heredad de Peñalosa, the hot juice is aged in oak. The winemakers choose to age the entire wine for at least four months. It becomes full-bodied and creamy with a soft character.
Full and very powerful this red wine Peñalosa

Upon opening this beautiful bottle, we smell a robust aroma of black fruit, light spices, and a touch of toast and tobacco. In the glass, it erupts into a black-red hue with a creamy texture. Use a large glass to unleash all its beautiful aromas. Swirl the wine back and forth, and the beautiful aromas emerge, including sweet cherries, blueberries, vanilla, licorice, and tobacco leaves. On the palate, it offers a powerful attack with plenty of black fruit and spices. Later, after a brief lingering, a subtle hint of the oak barrel is revealed. On the back of the palate, notes of licorice, vanilla, and earth complete this red wine.
