A delicious Austrian white wine made entirely from Riesling grapes. This wine is produced near the capital, Vienna, in the Lower Austria region. This is Austria's largest wine-growing region and is characterized by loess soils and a warm climate. They offer a wide variety of wines, including this very fruity Riesling with a remarkably balanced flavor.
The family business Pfaffl
In 1978, the young Roman and Adelheid Pfaffl took over the reins of Weingut Pfaffl. In a short time, they transformed the farm, which had been dedicated to growing grains, potatoes, and raising cows and pigs, into a true winery. Over forty years, they managed to expand it to now boast 110 hectares of vineyards. It started small, producing wines for their own restaurant, but now the whole world enjoys Pfaffl wines. They are innovative, down-to-earth, and a true family business. Together with their children, they work enthusiastically and dedicatedly on their first-class wines.
The Riesling grapes are harvested entirely by hand at peak ripeness. This allows for rigorous selection in the vineyards themselves. Only the very best grapes reach the winery, where they are destemmed and crushed. The grapes undergo a short two-hour skin maceration, after which they are immediately pressed. At a controlled temperature of 18 degrees Celsius, the resulting must undergoes fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After the necessary rest, the wine is bottled.
Enjoy the fruity Vom Haus Riesling
When pouring this pale yellow Riesling, you can immediately expect a strong fruity aroma. Mandarin, peach, apricot, and pear combine to create a fruity and refreshing bouquet. These fruity notes fill the mouth, giving this Riesling a crisp, dry taste. This continues into the mineral finish. Delicious with salads or simply enjoyed on its own.
