A rich and full-bodied Pinot Nero from the heart of Italy. This wine, produced by the Pizzolato family business, is the result of the expertise and passion of the owner and his team. Carefully selected organic grapes, grown on the beautiful hills of Trentino, create this wine's unmistakable fruity and spicy aromas.
The family business Pizzolato
Pizzolato is a family-owned winery dedicated to crafting high-quality wines for over five generations. They collaborate with local producers and own 58 hectares of vineyards, enabling the winery to produce a wide range of delicious wines. Since 1985, Pizzolato has focused entirely on organic farming and is certified as an organic producer. All Pizzolato wines are made from organically grown grapes grown on the beautiful hills of the DOC region north of Treviso. The vinification process is carefully overseen by Settimo Pizzolato, the winery's owner, and his team of experts. Thanks to their expertise and passion, they produce high-quality organic wines.
The Pinot Nero grapes are harvested by hand at peak ripeness. They are then transported to the winery where they are destemmed and pressed. Selected yeasts are then added, after which alcoholic fermentation can begin. To give the wine a beautiful flavor and structure, it is regularly pumped over. Maceration then takes place, followed by transfer to steel tanks where the wine can further develop and refine.
The aroma and taste of Pizzolato Back to Basic Pinot Nero
The result is a beautiful ruby-red wine. The nose is wonderfully fruity with aromas of berries, blackberries, and plums. This aroma is complemented by subtle notes of spice. On the palate, a fruity flavor is clearly evident. This Pinot Nero has a light tannic structure and is pleasantly full-bodied with a pleasant acidity. This acidity gives the wine a fresh and lively flavor, making it perfect for pairing with appetizers like risotto or dishes with red or white meat. The pleasantly long finish ensures that the wine's flavor lingers.
