Pizzolato Spumante d’Italia Rosé Piccolo 0.2L is the same ORGANIC and VEGAN M Use Rosé Spumante Extra Dry as the 0.75L bottle, but in a convenient 200 ml format. This piccolo stands out immediately due to its soft pink bubble, its organic character, and the striking designer bottle that is made to be reused.
This rosé spumante comes from Veneto, with Pizzolato as the organic producer in Villorba, in the province of Treviso.
Location / Origin: Veneto is located in Northeast Italy and is strongly associated with fresh, accessible sparkling wines. Pizzolato operates from Villorba, close to Treviso and a short distance from Venice.
Vineyards: Pizzolato's organic vineyards are seen as the green heart of the estate. Biodiversity plays an important role here, with wild grasses, dragonflies, ladybugs, and other insects among the vines.
Soil: The roots stand in warm soils with many stones, mineral elements, and material historically carried by the Piave river. That stony structure provides drainage and helps the grapes ripen evenly.
Landscape: From the vineyards, there is a view of the Dolomites, the mountains where much of the rock in the soil originates. This gives the origin of this organic Veneto bubble extra context.
This rosé spumante is made with a fresh vinification and a second fermentation in a pressure tank.
Fermentation: After pressing the grapes, the must is clarified and fermented with selected yeasts at a controlled temperature of approximately 14 °C. This cool fermentation helps to keep the fruity, floral character clear.
Second fermentation: After creating the base wine, a second fermentation follows in an autoclave until the pressure exceeds 4.5 atm. This gives the wine its lively mousse and festive bubble.
Extra Dry: What does Extra Dry mean? For sparkling wine, Extra Dry means that the wine has a soft, slightly rounded touch, here balanced by fresh acids and a subtly salty finish.
Alcohol content: With 11% alcohol, this piccolo remains light, accessible, and suitable as a festive aperitif bubble.
This rosé spumante is made from Glera and Raboso, 2 grapes that together provide freshness, fruit, and color.
Glera – Veneto: Glera forms the fresh sparkling base and gives the wine its lively, fruity character.
Raboso – Veneto: Raboso contributes to the soft pink color, the red fruit, and the light tension in the finish.
