The Plan de Dieu du Rhône Villages is made from Grenache (77 percent), Syrah (15 percent), and Mourvèdre (8 percent) grapes. It's a full-bodied, rich red wine that ages for an impressive seven months in concrete vats. This is perfect for redox aging while simultaneously preserving the fruit flavors. The Rhône Villages vineyards are spread across several communes in the Vaucluse department. The soil in which the Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre vines grow consists primarily of clay, slate, and gravel, providing the optimal base for this French red wine.

The leading winery Ogier in the Rhône Valley

Few wine regions in the world boast such a long and illustrious history as the Rhône Valley in France. For over two thousand years, wines have been produced in this region, benefiting from its excellent, mineral-rich soils and diverse climate, which allows for the growth of a wide range of grape varieties. The Rhône Valley is associated with elegant, flavorful wines and grape varietals like Viognier and Syrah, which are adept at expressing the finer characteristics of their terroir. The Plan de Dieu vineyards span four communes in this area: Camaret-sur-Aigues, Jonquières, Travaillan et Violès, and the Vaucluse. These vineyards developed during the Middle Ages under the influence of the Knights Templar. The wines quickly became renowned for their quality. The leading winery, Ogier, is located in the equally famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Here, they have built a formidable reputation for their Rhône wines.

The divine aromas of Plan de Dieu Cotes du Rhone Villages

After harvest, fermentation takes place at 22 degrees Celsius, rising to 28 degrees Celsius towards the end. The grape juice is regularly and carefully pumped over, ensuring good extraction of the flavors. After seven months of aging, it's time to savor this full-bodied, rich red Cotes du Rhone Villages Plan de Dieu. Divine aromas of ripe strawberry and pear with beautiful hints of oak and a delightful earthiness in the background. A beautifully ripe structure flows into a stylish finish.
