At the mention of Faustino, any wine connoisseur's eyes light up. This passion is only heightened by the red Portia Ebeia Roble del Duero, a creation of Bodegas Faustino. Although Faustino's roots lie in Rioja, in the early 1990s they recognized the potential of the Ribera del Duero region. They planted Tempranillo grapes in four unique vineyards: Roa, Gumiel de Izán, Villanueva, and Gumiel del Mercado. The results exceeded even their own expectations, with wines that embody a combination of power and elegance, the result of years of dedication.
Portia's Mature Vineyards
These vineyards, now mature and ripe, benefit from their high altitude, some 850 meters above sea level. This altitude allows for slow ripening of the grapes, resulting in superior quality. Portia's commitment to sustainable agriculture and respect for nature has resulted in a Ribera del Duero wine full of power and character.
The Wood-Aged Magic of Portia Roble Ribera del Duero
Each grape bunch is carefully handpicked and rigorously selected. After a gentle pressing, the wine is transferred to oak barrels for aging, adding depth and complexity. Upon pouring, the wine reveals a deep red color with purple hues. Its aromas are rich and inviting, with notes of black fruit like blackberry and plum, complemented by spices, cedar, and toasted oak. On the palate, it's a symphony of flavors: soft tannins, spices, oak, and an abundance of black fruit and vanilla. A wine that impresses in both quality and value!
