Progetti Agricoli Terre di Mario Primitivo Sangiovese | Vino Rosso, Italy
Progetti Agricoli Terre di Mario Primitivo Sangiovese is a powerful red wine from Italy that combines modern craftsmanship with classic grape varieties. Named after grandfather Mario, this wine symbolizes the style and dedication of the house: accessible, flavorful, and elegant. With 94 points from Luca Maroni and a gold medal from Mundus Vini (both for the 2023 vintage), this wine has more than proven its quality.
Vineyards and region
The wine comes from the Abruzzo region, on the Adriatic coast. Here, the Mediterranean climate ensures optimal ripening, with warm days and the cooling influences of the mountains. The combination of clay and limestone soils and abundant sunshine contributes to the full flavor and excellent balance of fruit, tannins, and freshness.
Vinification and maturation
After destemming, the grapes are transferred to small stainless steel fermentation tanks. There, they macerate on the skins for approximately 15 days to enhance color, aroma, and structure. The wine is then pressed and bottled. There is no mention of oak aging, allowing the grapes' pure character to fully express itself.
Grape composition
Primitivo and Sangiovese.
Tasting notes and serving suggestions
The wine is deep ruby red in color and opens with an intense bouquet of black cherries and balsamic vinegar. On the palate, it is full and round, with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and soft tannins. The fresh acidity provides balance and structure. It pairs perfectly with game dishes, roast pork, and aged cheeses.
