When you think of the Quiot family, the Southern Rhône often immediately comes to mind. They own several vineyards in the Rhône, including Vacqueyras, Gigondas, and Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Thanks to years of expertise, as well as passion and dedication, they produce high-quality wines. This Vacqueyras, for example, has a robust flavor and a wonderfully long finish.

The best Grenache and Syrah grapes for this Vacqueyras

For over a century, Château du Triignon has been one of the most respected wine estates in the southern Rhône Valley. With significant holdings in Gigondas, Rasteau, Sablet, and other prominent Côtes-du-Rhône regions, five successive generations of the Roux family have firmly established Château du Trignon as a premier producer of powerful, structured red wines. And since the Quiot family's 2007 acquisition of Domaine du Vieux Lazaret and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Château du Trignon has become equally adept at producing captivating white and red wines.

Long-term maturation for Quiot Chateau du Trignon Vacqueyras

The blend consists of Grenache and Syrah from Vacqueyras in the Rhône Valley. Château du Trignon boasts four terroirs, ranging from gravelly to sandy soils. The grapes are carefully harvested, with quality assessed in the vineyard itself. Once arrived at the winery, a further rigorous selection takes place. The grapes then undergo cold maceration to extract their color and flavors. The juice is then fermented for three weeks at a controlled temperature. The must is pumped over twice a day, enhancing the wine's color, tannin, and flavor. Finally, the wine is aged for another year, 10 percent of which is in oak. The Château du Trignon Vacqueyras shimmers beautifully red in the glass, revealing interesting aromas of ripe red fruit like blackberries and plums, wood, vanilla, and a hint of mint. It's a fairly robust wine, with aromas that carry through to the palate. It finishes with a long finish.
