Ramos Pinto is unparalleled in creating delicious port. This Adriano Reserva is no exception. Made from the finest grape varieties of the Douro region, it's the result of meticulous selection, aged in oak barrels in the cellars for an average of seven years. The grapes are hand-harvested, and the vinification technique is traditional.
The quality of Ramos Pinto port
In 1880, the Ramos Pinto port house was founded by Adriano Ramos Pinot. In a very short time, the house became known for its innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, guaranteeing high-quality port. These elements ensured that Pinto was responsible for half of all wine exports to South America at the beginning of the 20th century. To this day, innovation and the use of new techniques remain paramount. Significant attention is also paid to the port's aesthetics, with labels regularly designed by international artists. Ramos Pinto owns the vineyards of do Bom Retiro, da Urtiga, dos Bons Ares, and da Ervamoira, totaling approximately 360 hectares. It is quite remarkable for a producer to manage so many vineyards themselves. However, this also means that Ramos Pinto has considerable control over the quality of the grapes.
The wines are made at the Ramos Pinto Quinta do Bom Retiro winery. For LBV and Vintage Port, the grapes are processed using the traditional lagering method (a stone press trough formerly used for foot pressing). This traditional technique allows for the juice to be extracted from the grapes with exceptional efficiency and care. After the initial winemaking process, the wines are transported to the historic cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they undergo a long aging process.
The refined and intense aromas of Adriano Reserva
The Adriano Reserva's color is dark golden yellow, which changes to amber with age. The nose is refined and intense, revealing aromas of citrus, nectar, honey, and almond, complemented by fresh raisins and ripe white fruit. The palate is a feast for the eyes. Truly charming, it possesses a lovely sweetness, softness, and fruitiness. This Adriano Reserva has a wonderfully thick structure and refined flavors. This port is made from the most prestigious grape varieties and aged for seven years in oak barrels. It comes packaged in a chic, artist-designed gift box.
