This Ramos Pinto Lagrima is a unique white port, as it's aged in oak. For a full four years, it's aged in traditional oak "Port pipes." Here, this white port develops into a mature, robust port with a truly unparalleled character.

Only the best grape varieties for Ramos Pinto Port

Founded in 1880, the Ramos Pinto winery still follows the original idea of its founder, Adriano Ramos Pinto, to cultivate and select the best grape varieties from the Douro Demarcated Region for the production of its wines. Port house Ramos Pinto owns four vineyards in the Douro wine region: Quintas do Bom Retiro and da Urtiga, traditional vineyards in the heart of the Douro Valley, for refinement and sophistication; Quinta dos Bons Ares, one of the most modern vineyards in the Douro Superior, for a fresh and vibrant note; and finally, Quinta de Ervamoira, located in the Côa Valley, for structure, firmness, and intense fruit. Only grapes from their own vineyards are used. Lagrima White Port is the sweetest of all Ramos Pinto ports, with a sugar content of 140 grams per liter. As the name suggests, Lagrima port is made from the must of white wine, which drains from the barrels, with only a light fermentation.

The aromas and taste of Ramos Pinto Lagrima White

The aroma reveals a beautiful bouquet of intense yellow fruits like plum, peach, and apricot, complemented by chamomile and orange blossom, with a hint of honey. The rich palate is delightful; what a beautiful, full-bodied white port. A truly exceptional flavor, soft and creamy with rich nuances of yellow fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, currants, and hints of citrus and spice. This Ramos Pinto Lagrima white Port is truly "heavenly." Ideal as an aperitif, it pairs beautifully with an appetizer, foie gras, grilled octopus salad in a vinaigrette dressing, or dessert.
