The Reserva Collector follows directly after the Ruby Port in the port category. We can say it's a Ruby Port with more depth and maturity, thanks in part to the longer oak aging. Not too heavy, and with just the right sweetness, this Ruby Collector Reserva is the perfect complement.
The rich history of Ramos Pinto
In 1880, Adriano Ramos Pinto founded the Ramos Pinto port house. The house quickly became known for its innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, resulting in high-quality Port. All these elements ensured that Ramos Pinto was responsible for half of all wine exports to South America at the beginning of the 20th century. To this day, innovation remains a top priority for Ramos Pinto. New techniques are used in winemaking. In addition, considerable attention is paid to the port's aesthetics, which are regularly developed by international artists. Ramos Pinto owns the vineyards of do Bom Retiro, da Urtiga, dos Bons Ares, and da Ervamoira, totaling approximately 360 hectares. It is quite remarkable for a producer to manage so many vineyards themselves. However, this also means that Ramos Pinto has considerable control over the quality of the grapes.
This Collector Reserva consists of various Ruby Ports aged 2, 3, or 4 years, and ports with an average age of 7, 8, and 9 years, blended by the Master Blender to create a 5-year-old blend. This delicious port takes us back to its origins: earth, warmth, and red fruits. Thanks to its extended oak aging, it has much more depth and maturity than a regular port.
