This beautiful Spanish winery is located in the southern tip of the Rioja region, in the Rioja Oriental region. The vineyards have been planted in the rich Rioja soil since 1974. It was immediately clear what Real Agrado's wines should be: powerful, full-bodied, and with the right temperament. In the early years of this winery, significant investments were made to optimize the vines and harvests. And we've been able to taste this since 2005, when Real Agrado took a major step forward. Everything was then managed in-house, from harvesting to aging in wooden barrels. As you can see on the label, "Viñedos en Propiedad" (Viñedos en Propiedad) legally recognizes that Real Agrado works exclusively with its own grapes.

The harvest of the Viura grape for this white Rioja

Today, the vineyards are mature, ranging in age from 25 to 40 years. This ensures truly fantastic grape quality. Viura grapes are grown in Rioja for this white wine. This vineyard was planted in 1980 and expanded in 1992 to meet the growing demand for white Rioja wines. The vineyard's location is perfect, with abundant sunshine but also a very cool climate. A fresh breeze contributes to the cooling, as does the sharp drop in nighttime temperatures due to the vineyard's elevated position. Thanks to the deep roots and strong soil structure, the bunches are ready to harvest before the warm afternoons. All grapes are harvested partially by hand, starting early in the morning to prevent damage to the Viura bunches. The grapes retain their natural freshness, which is evident in this Real Agrado white wine.

The aroma and taste of the Real Agrado Rioja Blanco

Yes, it's a joy to drink, and that's why it's so popular in the Netherlands. Well, we're sold on this white Rioja, as we smell a powerful aroma of white flowers, tropical fruit, and a light spice. Once on the palate, this wine transports us to the mountains where the Viura grapes are grown. Beautifully slightly dry with plenty of refreshment. Flavor nuances of citrus peel, peach, lime, green apple, and mint leaves are noticeable. The finish is a true thirst-quencher, and it pairs well with dishes like sea bass, grilled vegetables, and lobster.
